Product Catalog Design

Industrial product catalog design that stays consistent from page 1 to page 90

A catalog is where a buyer compares your products side by side. I design catalogs for industrial and technical brands with one consistent system for every product page, so customers find the right model fast and your range looks as solid as it is.

  • 8 to 90+ pages
  • One system for every product
  • Lower per-page rate on long catalogs

Where catalogs usually go wrong

I trained as a mechanical engineer before moving into design, so I read your specs the way your buyers do. That changes what goes where on the page.

The usual problems

  • Each product page laid out differently, so comparing models is hard work
  • No clear navigation, so buyers flip pages looking for one part number
  • Spec tables that change format between product families
  • A file that is painful to update when one price or dimension changes

How I fix them

  • A page system that every product follows, with room for exceptions
  • Sections, tabs and a contents page that match how customers search
  • One table style for every family, with consistent units
  • Built in InDesign with styles, so updates are quick and safe

What you get

A catalog system

Master pages, paragraph and table styles, so every product page follows the same rules.

Clear navigation

Section openers, colored tabs, running headers and a contents page so buyers jump straight to what they need.

Product pages that compare well

Photo, short description, features and spec table in the same place on every page.

Image clean-up

Background removal and consistent cropping for product photos, priced per batch when needed.

Print and interactive PDF

Print-ready file for your printer, plus a web PDF with a clickable table of contents on request.

Easy updates

Next year's edition is an update, not a rebuild, because the styles are set up properly.

Recent product catalog work

Real projects for industrial and technical brands. Previews are flattened to protect client files; clients receive full-resolution PDFs.

How it works

1

Send what you have

Specs, an old PDF, product photos, your brand guide. A rough draft is fine. If something important is missing, I tell you up front.

2

Fixed quote in 24 hours

You get a scope and a fixed price before anything starts. No hourly meter, no surprise invoice at the end.

3

Structure, then design

I sort the content into the order a buyer reads it, then build the layout in InDesign around that structure.

4

Review and deliver

Two rounds of revisions are included. You get a print-ready PDF and a web-ready PDF, with source files on request.

Pricing
From $70 per page

Longer catalogs get a lower per-page rate. A 24-page catalog with final content usually comes in well under $70 a page. You get a fixed quote once I see the page count and content. You get a fixed quote within 24 hours of sending your content. 50% to start, 50% before final files.

Questions about product catalog design

Anything from an 8-page product range to a catalog with 90+ products. Bigger catalogs are planned in sections so you can review as we go instead of all at the end.

Yes. Send the current PDF or InDesign file plus any updated specs. I rebuild it in a cleaner system and carry every product across.

I do clean-up for catalogs: background removal, consistent crops and sizing. Heavy retouching isn't something I offer, but I can place images from your retoucher or photographer.

That is the point of building it properly. Paragraph, table and object styles mean a new product or a changed value is a quick edit.

Most catalogs take one to three weeks depending on page count and how final the content is. I give you a schedule with the quote.
