Case study
Kleenoil Filtration: manuals, case studies and a leaflet for a UK filtration range
Kleenoil makes micron filtration systems for oil and diesel. Over several projects I designed their installation and operation manuals, a product leaflet and a long series of customer case studies, all in one consistent brand system.
- Oil and fuel filtration
- United Kingdom
- Two 24-page manuals, 40 case studies, a 9-page leaflet

The brief
Kleenoil needed installation and operation manuals for its MS Series micron filtration systems: five models, from the MS1 to the MS8, covered across two 24-page manuals.
Alongside the manuals they needed sales material that showed the systems working in the field. That became a series of customer case studies and a 9-page product leaflet.
Manuals that work on site
The cover shows every model in the range down the left edge, so an engineer can confirm they have the right manual before opening it. The safety checks sit right on the cover.
Inside, the manual follows a strict order with 16 numbered sections: technical specifications, tools required, safety features, start-up, pump priming, maintenance, disposal, troubleshooting, certifications and warranty. Each page carries the manual name, version and date in the header and footer, so the team always knows which edition they are holding.

Case studies built on one template
The case studies follow one template: background, challenge, solution and results, with real particle counts and photos from the field doing most of the talking. Because every case study uses the same structure, new ones are quick to produce and the whole series reads as one body of evidence.

A leaflet in the same system
The 9-page leaflet uses the same green and yellow brand system, so a customer who sees the leaflet at a trade show, then reads a case study, then receives a manual with the machine, sees one company throughout.

“It's unbelievable as to what you have made for us. It far surpasses anything we expected and the results are faultless. You have helped take us to a better level of professionalism and we do hope you carry on assisting us in our projects.”
